The third day of the 4th Test between India and England went pretty well for the visitors with opener Rohit Sharma scoring a brilliant ton. The batsman truly deserved this ton as he has been consistent throughout the tough series and has been getting starts which could not be converted to big scores.
This was also Rohit’s first Ton in Tests outside India, his 8th overall. The innings by the 34-year old batsman was one played with great temperament and technique. The century also settled the debate about Rohit being ‘Test Material or Not’ once and for all.
Rohit was taking his time throughout his knock and at the same time punishing those loose deliveries. But as he got to into the 80s, he turned into the beast mode unleashing shots in his armoury.
Sharma, having gotten out in the 80s before in this series, wasn’t in the mood to miss out this time around. The interesting part remains how he got to his most awaited century.
The opener hit Moeen Ali’s well tossed ball for a big Six to Long-on. He came down the track and purposely stayed a little away from the length to make sure the ball ended up in the stands.
The Indian team in the pavilion stood up at this amazing feat by their teammate and especially skipper Virat’s reaction was one to be watched for.
Here, have a look:

Rohit-Pujara Partnership Puts India in a Comfortable Position
Rohit was well supported by Cheteshwar Pujara who came today with a positive approach and made sure that flow of runs did not stop. The right-hander scored 61 and hit 9 boundaries. The duo added 153 runs for the Indian team and both got outdone by Robinson in the very same over.
Currently, at the time of Stumps, Day 3, Ravindra Jadeja and skipper Virat Kohli are standing strong in the middle and will continue things tomorrow.
