Tokyo Olympics 2021: PV Sindhu Wins Bronze Medal, Cricketing World All Praises for Her

Indian badminton player PV Sindhu has clinched the bronze medal in the Women’s Single category in Badminton. With this historic win, she has become the first woman to win two Olympic medals. Sindhu fully dominated the bronze medal match and won comfortably against the Chinese Shuttler He Bing Jiao.

On Saturday, Sindhu was all set to play against the world number one Tai Tzu of Chinese Taipei in the semi-final match which she lost 18-21, 12-21 . Though she got out of the final race, the experienced badminton player defeated He Bing Jiao to get her hands on the prestigious bronze medal. It is a known fact that Sindhu had also brought home a silver medal in the 2016 Rio Olympics and this was her second medal.

In fact, this is also India’s second medal in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics after Mirabai Chanu brought home a Silver Medal.

In some other news from Tokyo Olympics, the Indian Men’s Hockey Team has also won the Quarterfinals against Great Britain by 3-1 and are through to the Semis. This is a really big deal for the nation as the Indian Hockey Team has entered the Semi-finals of Men’s Hockey after a long drought of 49 years.
