When Bhuvneshwar Kumar was not chose in the Indian Test Squad for the very awaited ICC World Test Championship Final and five-match Test series in England, many Bhuvi fans who didn’t support his exclusion from the squad. Now a fresh source claims that the swing bowling specialist doesn’t want to play Test cricket anymore and wants to give more time to white-ball cricket.
There were some reasons because of which Bhuvneshwar Kumar was not selected in the 20-member squad which will travel to England sometime.
Selectors Can Feel That Bhuvi is Not Interested in Longer Formats
Here is what the source said to Times of India.
“Bhuvneshwar Kumar is focusing on the next T20 opportunities coming up…Bhuvneshwar just doesn’t want to play Test cricket anymore. That drive has gone missing. To be honest, the selectors don’t even see Bhuvi hungry for 10 overs, forget Test cricket. It’s Team India’s loss no doubt because if one bowler should have made it to England, it should have been him,” said the source as quoted by the Times Of India.
Later this year, there is a T20 World Cup scheduled to be held at home. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is a senior bowler in the white-ball setup will be looking forward to that quite eagerly. In the following two years, there’s another T20 World Cup and a 50-over World Cup in India.
