Kuldeep Yadav has not had the best cricketing experience for the last 2 years . He has been out of form in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the last two years and has not done well for India as well in white-ball cricket. In fact, he is not even getting chances in the playing XI for KKR.

In the past two IPL seasons in IPL 2019 and IPL 2020, Kuldeep has taken a total of 5 wickets in 14 matches. He took 4 wickets in 9 matches in IPL 2019 at an economy of 8.66 and then picked just one wicket in 4 matches in IPL 2020. He was benched for the rest of the tournament, with Varun Chakravarthy coming to the game and impressing many.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) rectified their problems in the spin department by buying Harbhajan Singh and Shakib Al Hasan in the IPL 2021 auction, and this would prove to be trouble for Kuldeep, given his current form in the recently concluded limited over series between India and England.

KKR has a more balanced spin attack now: Kuldeep Yadav

Yadav spoke about the KKR squad for IPL 2021 in an exclusive interview on Sports Yaari. He believes KKR has the best spinners in the IPL 2021 with himself, Sunil Narine, and Varun Chakravarthy in the squad in addition to Harbhajan Singh and Shakib Al Hasan.

“This time our team is well balanced, and with Harbhajan Singh’s selection, the team will get an edge. I am happy that we have new promising players in the team and with this confidence, I am sure that we will win the trophy this time,” Kuldeep said.

Kuldeep Yadav is considered to be one of the brightest young spinners in the world, the only Indian with multiple hat-tricks in international cricket, both coming in ODIs. Kuldeep Yadav is confident that he will bounce back and improve his game.

It was difficult to take wickets in this series, so my focus was to take down as many as I can. The gameplay of the opposite team was fearless. My rhythm was not up to the mark during the first ODI against England, however, I got better as the game progressed. But, after the three sixes in an over from Ben Stokes, it dented my economy rate,” Kuldeep said on his current form.
