Amit Mishra

Table-toppers Delhi Capitals has recently announced their ace spinner Amit Mishra’s replacement for the remainder of the IPL 2020. The franchise has signed Karnataka leg-spinner Pravin Dubey who is a like-to-like replacement for Mishra.

Experienced leggie Mishra was ruled out of the IPL 2020 after playing just three matches. He suffered from a tendon injury while attempting a catch in DC’s encounter against KKR.  The management has confirmed that he is currently recovering from the injury and has undergone a surgery.

The team management took 2 weeks to make the replacement and settled for Dubey. It is interesting to know that Pravin was already present in UAE as RCB’s net bowler.

Pravin Dubey came into limelight back in 2015 in the Karnataka Premier League. RCB recognized his talent and signed him for 35 Lakhs. He was with the team until they released him in 2017.

Dubey made his first-class debut earlier this year and was travelling with RCB as their net bowler.

He has been a consistent performer in the domestic circuit and has picked up 16 wickets in 14 games at an excellent economy of 6.87.

DC’s Injury Problems

Delhi Capitals have been absolutely amazing in this IPL but they have had various injuries in this season so far. Ravichandran Ashwin got injured in the very first game of the league and missed out a few games. He is fine now and bowling well.

Later Amit Mishra was ruled out of IPL 2020. Then Ishant Sharma too got injured and was ruled out of the remainder of the league. Rishab Pant too has missed the last few games.

However, Delhi has been in an amazing run this year in spite of such major injury issues which clearly shows their extra-ordinary bench strength.
