The Royals Challengers Bangalore started their IPL 2021 journey with a win against the Mumbai Indians with the help of an all-round performance by the team. Players like Virat Kohli, AB De Villiers and Glenn Maxwell played an important role in the team’s last ball victory. However, the hero of the match remains Harshal Patel who took as many as 5 wickets and just nailed the death-overs for the RCB.
Seam-bowling all-rounder Harshal Patel brought his A-game as he made the most out of his opportunity. He was responsible for the defending champions finding themselves at least 20 runs short as his fifer kept them to 158 before the Royal Challengers Bangalore sneaked home in the last ball by two wickets. The 30-year old expressed he was unknown that he became the first bowler to take a fifer against Mumbai Indians.
The right-arm fast-bowler dismissed big players like Krunal Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, and the debutant Marco Jansen. Also, not to forget his remarkable last over where he picked 3 wickets and gave just a single run. That was really the turning point in the match.

“He Relished The Responsibility” – Virat Kohli
RCB skipper Virat Kohli Was Really Happy with Harshal’s performance and was all praises for him in the post-match presentation.
“He is relishing the responsibility and is clear with his plans. He was the difference today. He is going to be our death bowler. As a captain you want players with clarity, and he has that. Jamieson started off well, Yuzi was good, Siraj was good too. In T20 cricket, clarity at the top of your mark is all you as for as a captain. Harshal was very clear with that and it was his day today. ” – Said The RCB Skipper
