Hardik Pandya might not had the best time of the field in the recent past but has always managed to stay in the News for different reasons. This time around, the flamboyant all-rounder is in trouble as Airport Customs has seized two of his watches on the basis of invoice value mismatch. Rumours said that the watches were worth around 5 Crores INR.
However, in an official statement made by Hardik Pandya himself, the cricketer has claimed that the watches are valued much less at around INR 1.5 Crores. Yes, Pretty huge amount for watches but less than the rumoured prices.
He further clarified that as a law abiding citizen of the nation, he plans to do every legal formality that needs to be taken care of.
Here is a look at his statement released on his social media account:

According to Customs law of India, a passenger can only carry items/goods worth up to R50,000 as free allowance and won’t have to declare at the customs. If a passenger is carrying items of a higher value, they must be declared at customs on arrival, and can pay duty of around 36%
